Foothills Dock On The Willamette River

Cruise into Lake Oswego to shop at Lakeview Village, have dinner at one of the downtown restaurants, catch the concerts or movies in the park series. Or, have dinner and take in a theater production at the Lakewood Center, catch a sunset at the new Sundeleaf Plaza park and cap it off with a late Happy Hour at one of Lake Oswego’s fine restaurants. There’s always the Lake Twin Theater and an expresso at the local Starbucks too.  You can tie-up your boat for up to 72 hours.

Lots to see and do around Lakeview Village in downtown Lake Oswego this summer.

New Foothills Dock Gangway

Newly built this year the Foothills Dock will be enjoyed by many. I had posted a picture of the new Foothills dock previously, and I have more to come.

The dock is 272 feet and is connected by this 100 foot gangway. The dock can accommodate both small and large boats and users can dock up to 72 hours to access Foothills Park between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Summer End Foothills Park

I made it to Foothills right before our Fall weather started and at summer’s end. It’s a beautiful park and this is a an angle of the viewing platform I hadn’t taken before.

Viewing Platform At Foothills Park.

This picture was taken from down below at the new dock at Foothills Park.  I’ve never taken the viewing platform from this angle before.

Also, I found a new software editing program recently and I was playing around with it.  I used this photo and enhanced it.  I like the way it turned out, kinda’ artistic, I think.

Summer End At Foothills

There’s a pool of water around the entire entry to the park and more than this picture shows. I guess I haven’t been there in a while as I don’t have any pictures that show the water.

I’ve been spending a lot of time at George Rogers Park instead and have been busy taking pictures of the Gallery Without Walls. I feel I have somewhat neglected Foothills Park.

New Foothills Dock

On the last day of summer we had a gorgeous day and at sunset, I went down to take a look at the new Foothills dock at the Park. I must say, it is a very nice dock. I had to laugh as that boat appeared just as I was getting ready to take pictures – right on queue.

There is a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for September 30 at 5:30 p.m. there.

The Rocks At Foothills Park.allaboutlakeoswegolivingaphotoblog.com

The Rocks At Foothills Park.

I took this photo the last time I was at Foothills Park thinking they were part of the Gallery Without Walls collection.  After I got back home, I saw they weren’t.  Therefore, I have no idea if they are manmade or came from the ground this way.  They are situated at the south end of the park near the William Stafford Pathway.  In checking on-line, I haven’t been able to find any information or reference to these rocks.  However, they have a place of prominence at the park so I’m thinking they must mean something…yet can’t find information about them.

Foothills Park was built in 2006 at the site of a former riverfront wood chip transfer location.  This park has dramatically changed the site and turned it into a place everyone can enjoy. It sits along the banks of the Willamette River near downtown Lake Oswego.

Sail Away At Foothills Park.allaboutlakeoswegolivingaphotoblog.com

Sail Away At Foothills Park

The covered platform, that replicates a sail at Foothills Park, has sweeping views of the Willamette River and almost makes you want to sail away.

Didn’t see any boats pass this day, but hopefully I’ll get a picture of one soon.  I’ve visited the park many times when the river was filled with boats, and I’ll see if I can find some next time I take a picture.
