Lake Oswego Sundeleaf Plaza Park Dedication

The City of Lake Oswego’s newest park, Sundeleaf Plaza Park, will be dedicated on September 26 from 4 to 6 p.m.

You are invited to the dedication ceremony.  The program will include comments from Mayor Hoffman, Steve Dodds, Terry Reckord, Marylou Culver (Lake Oswego Historian) and Hillary Mackenzie (granddaughter of Richard Sundeleaf), and a plaque unveiling. Enjoy music and light appetizers.

It is a restful and enjoyable park that features wonderful views of Lakewood Bay, and includes a lakeside promenade, lawns, public plaza, a bioswale for storm water management, and restroom facilities.  The park, located along State Street (Highway 43), is immediately accessible to Millennium Plaza Park and downtown Lake Oswego.

Lake Oswego Sundeleaf Plaza First Day Of Summer

The City of Lake Oswego’s new Oswego Lake park is Sundeleaf Plaza Park.   Yesterday on the first day of summer I went to the City’s newest park named after the prominent architect of many downtown buildings, Lake Oswego houses and Portland homes as well, Richard Sundeleaf.

I have to say as long as I have lived in Lake Oswego, this is the first time I felt as if I lived in a resort town.  This new park is about as up-front and personal as you can get to Oswego Lake. With the smell of the water, the boats going out on the Lake, the passer-bys with their dogs and on their bicycles, or talking to those who just sat on the bench to enjoy the view and sunset, it was a perfect way to start the summer.
